The ECRHA held its annual Columbus Day Preseason Event this past weekend at the Feasterville Sportsplex and, as always, the Drexel Roller Hockey A and B teams were both involved.

Both teams made a strong showing, with the A team going 2-0-1 in Division II play and the B team finishing 1-2-0 while playing some very tough competition in the likes of Penn State and Stony Brook.

All in all, it was a solid weekend for two teams still experimenting with team chemistry and newcomers to both rosters, and players on both teams played very well. With several promising young rookies on both of the teams, this should be a great year for Drexel Roller Hockey. Both teams will be in action to open the regular season in Marple, PA on the weekend of October 25th. Show up to support Drexel Roller Hockey!

Results:

A team (Division II):
Saturday, 10/11 Drexel 6, Rowan 5 (W)
Saturday, 10/11 Drexel 5, Cornell 5 (T)
Sunday, 10/12 Drexel 7, Shippensburg 3 (W)

B team (B Division):
Saturday 10/11 Drexel B 7, Cornell B 1 (W)
Saturday 10/11 Drexel B 2, Stony Brook B 3 (L)
Sunday 10/12 Drexel B 5, Penn State B 7 (L)

This past weekend, the Drexel PCRHL team upped their winning streak to four games with wins in both games of the doubleheader.

Starting off with a crushing 10-0 win against Ursinus on February 24th, Drexel has been in high spirits coming into this weekend. In the first of two games, Drexel kept West Chester at their pace, and prevented WC from using their trademark speed. Drexel then faced Widener University in a late 11:00pm start. Coming out a bit sluggish, Drexel found themselves down by two powerplay goals at the end of the first period. However, the team was able to fire itself back up again, and scored the game winning goal with just 3 seconds left on the clock.

Next week, Drexel tentatively faces Ursinus University once again on the eve of Easter Sunday. Details of this game are still uncertain since Urisinus has not showed to their last three PCRHL games.

On a side note: New pictures from the 2007-2008 ECRHA and PCRHL games will be uploaded to the gallery soon.
